In the heart of Gaza, where life has become a symbol of resilience and struggle, I was born twenty years ago, a young Palestinian like thousands of others, dreaming of a better future despite everything. My city has witnessed four wars in my short lifetime, with the latest being the most brutal and devastating—leaving nothing untouched, not homes, not dreams.
In a single moment, I lost my home—a place my father had built with years of hard work. It was reduced to rubble under the bombs. The university I had just started attending no longer exists, and the streets of my city have turned into memories beneath the debris. My family and I were forced to live in a tent for nearly a year, facing cold, hunger, and fear, before we were able to return to what remained of my grandparents’ house—damaged, but still better than the tent.
A year before the war, I had planned to study abroad, but my family’s fears of the hardships of living in a foreign country and the high costs held me back. Instead, I enrolled at the University College of Applied Sciences in Gaza. Just a week after I began, the war erupted, and a year and a half of my life was lost to the ongoing conflict—halting all my academic and personal progress.
Yet, despite all this pain, my dream remains unbroken. In fact, it has grown stronger. Today, I have decided to face the challenges with unwavering determination and pursue my dream of studying abroad. Not just for myself, but for my family, my city, and for everyone who believes that education is the true key to change.
I believe I can be a part of rebuilding Gaza, and of creating a better future for my generation. To make this dream a reality, I am launching a fundraising campaign to cover the costs of travel, education, and living expenses—alongside helping my family, who are still suffering from the devastating consequences of war and financial hardship.
Every contribution, no matter how small, means the world to me. It’s not just financial support—it’s a message of hope, a push forward for a young man who still believes in life despite everything.
Thank you to everyone who lends a hand and supports this dream.
