My name is Mohammed, and I am the father of three children living in Gaza. Like so many families here, we have endured immense hardship, struggling every day to meet our most basic needs. But one of my greatest worries is my youngest son, Elias.
When Elias was a baby, he suffered from malnutrition, which affected the muscles in his eyes. He has lost his sight in one eye, and the vision in his other eye is extremely weak. He can barely see. As his father, it is heartbreaking to watch my little boy struggle with something so serious at such a young age.
Elias needs eye drops and medical supplies to care for his eyes. He also needs surgery. I am frightened because he is still so young, and the thought of him undergoing an operation fills me with worry. Yet I know that we must explore every possible opportunity to protect his remaining vision. Thankfully, a German medical team has promised to come soon and has told us they will perform the operation. We are holding on to this hope and praying that Elias will receive the treatment he needs.
I am raising money not only to help provide Elias with his eye drops and medical necessities, but also to give my three children and my family a safer, more stable and happier life. We need help meeting our daily needs and giving our children the care and future they deserve.
I am a father who wants to see his children grow up with hope, dignity and opportunities. I cannot do this alone.
